Home Maintenance Schedule

 

An ounce of prevention

 

The best way to keep your house from needing repairs is preventive maintenance.  To help you along, American Eagle has put together a home maintenance schedule for you to follow.

 

 

Front and Back Yards

Fall

Once/Year

Disconnect hoses from outside water faucets and drain hoses.

Make sure that window wells and storm drains are free of debris.

Check the safety and reversing mechanisms on garage door openers and adjust, if needed.

Exterior Walls

Check for cracks in brickwork and loose mortar.

Check painted siding for peeling or blistered paint.

Check trim and siding for rot and damage.

Windows and doors

Check windows, doors and trim for rot and peeling paint.

Check for broken glass and damaged screens.

Check and lubricate window hardware.

Examine all cords and plugs for damage; replace as needed.
