Qualifications

Educated at the University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a major in machine design and a minor in mathematics.

 

35 years experience in the printing and machinery building industries, including over 20 years experience in performance and safety testing of equipment.

Engineering experience in design and modification of equipment.

 

Experience as a Chief Engineer and Engineering Manager.

 

 

Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois (1975-2005)

All inspections are performed in accordance with the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics of the National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI).  These Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics exceed those required by the State of Illinois.

For our client's protection, American Eagle Home Inspections, LLC carries Errors and Omissions Insurance (professional liability) and General Liability Insurance. Certificates of Insurance are available upon request.

 

 

American Eagle Home Inspections, LLC was established in the State of Illinois on November 28, 2003. Kenneth W. Winter is the sole member of this Limited Liability Corporation (LLC).

Other “EXTRAS” included with every purchase inspection are 1) a 90-Day limited warranty that provides up to $500 coverage for major appliances and up to $2000 for structural issues, 2) RecallChek® which checks all major appliances against the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for existing recall and sends a report to the client within a day or two and 3) we provide all clients with a 128-page “Home Systems Guide” on how to operate their new home.  (For Spanish-speaking clients, we provide a similar, 160-page bi-lingual book entitled “Mi Casa”.)

 

 

All reports and other documents are computer-generated using 3D Inspection software, which can include photographs, detailed drawings and/or attention-catching colored icons to make the report as thorough as possible.

 

All reports and summary letters are in PDF format, which can easily be emailed to our clients.

 

While the reports and other documents are, by contract, to be used only by the inspector and the client, copies of these documents can be made available, at the client’s request, to the buyer's Realtor and attorney via email, fax or standard mail.
